The Sacramento-area community came together to raise $108,000 for the Sacramento Life Center through three fundraisers this spring: the Baby Bottle Project, Mother’s Day Rose Sale and Walk for Life. The fundraisers benefited the group’s free medical services for low-income pregnant women and teens through its clinics, as well as for its resource referral program and support services.
“Raising $108,000 is proof that this community cares about low-income pregnant women and teens and wants to ensure they have the resources and support system they need to become mothers,” said Marie Leatherby, executive director, Sacramento Life Center. “We are grateful to this community for being part of that support system for moms.”
The group is now preparing for its annual Salute to Life Dinner and Auction in November, which brings together more than 600 community members for the Sacramento Life Center’s largest fundraiser of the year. The Sacramento Life Center’s mission is to offer compassion, support, resources and free medical care to women and couples facing an unplanned or unsupported pregnancy.
