Women’s Empowerment Receives $50K from Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo recently granted $50,000 to Women’s Empowerment for its housing and workforce development programs for Sacramento women experiencing homelessness.

“Wells Fargo continues to be one of our most steadfast supporters, always prioritizing the women and children in Sacramento who are experiencing homelessness and ensuring they have the tools they need to find jobs with upward mobility and safe homes they can afford,” said Lisa Culp, executive director, Women’s Empowerment.

Grant funds will support Women’s Empowerment’s initial nine-week employment readiness and empowerment program, as well as paid training programs for its graduates and its Trellis Gardens transitional workforce housing program.

Women’s Empowerment is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year as the most comprehensive job-readiness program in the Sacramento area designed specifically to help women break the generational cycle of homelessness for themselves and their children. Since 2001, more than 2,000 women have graduated from the program with their more than 4,000 children. Women’s Empowerment is funded through private donations from the community and grants.
